Professor Dr. Anila Kamal Vice Chancellor, Women University Bagh, presented her intellectual talk on Networking Research and Academic Collaboration _Educating Youth for Digital Age: Tech Literacy & Strategic Awareness_in Vice Chancellor's Conference organized under Centre for International Strategic Studies-AJK on November 11, 2025.
Indicating newly emerged challenges of digital age for youth due to rapid technological transformations, she emphasized on preparing youth for responsible participation and strategic awareness. She pointed out problems and issues affecting different age groups in variety of ways including low digital literacy beyond basic use, misinformation and polarized online content, data privacy risks, digital evaluation skills, and strategic disengagement.
In her presentation, she said that teaching functional and critical digital literacy together, introducing source verification and fact checking training, encouraging ethical and responsible digital behaviour, establishing digital literacy and research labs for university students/faculty, and preparing layers of teams from universities to counter the social media war are the indicators to step forward in our endeavours.
Professor Dr. Anila Kamal presented University level Sustainable Collaboration Model and emphasized that collaborative efforts in strengthening universities and academic institution, regular training workshops, seminars and informal gatherings of the faculty facilitations in technology and strategic learning modules are the basic tents to meet the challenges of digital age.
At academic level, the significant element of the model includes digital learning and strategic awareness collaboration plan where on top of it, is curriculum revisions, subsequent to it, is Sustainable Five Years Financial Plan for Higher Education Institutions of AJK, providing funding for faculty/students’ projects in AJK, ensuring youth engagements with national institutions, promoting out door/ indoor and computer-based games.
Professor Dr. Anila Kamal shared her vision regarding the outcomes of her model stating that through this model, youth, faculty and researchers will be able to get systematic digital learning, applied research; innovation and trainings will translate collective resources into reality which will result contributory human resource development at par with international community.
At the end, Professor Dr. Anila Kamal shared initiatives of Women University Bagh with the august gathering particularly about the first women software technology park which, in near future, will provide availability of skill-oriented IT jobs, training and opportunities, freelancing and online job market to the people of AJK and particularly to the people of Bagh AJK.
