Opening Book Ceremony Department of English
During Student week, different segments were planned and accomplished, and Department of English organized Opening Book Ceremony in honor of the authors, Ms. Kainat Siddique Mughal and Ms. Syeda Fatima Batool, students Department of English (Session: 2021-25) who got their books published with titles ‘I Was’ and ‘Her Screams of Silence’ respectively on 12th February 2026 at 11:00’0 clock. Professor Dr. Anila Kamal, the Vice chancellor Women University of AJ&K Bagh chaired the ceremony as Chief Guest. The ceremony was conducted in Youth Development Center. Close relatives and the notables from the local community attended the ceremony. The program started with the Holy name of Allah Almighty. Manahil Anjum recited the holy verses while Naat was read by Ms. Eman Ali. Fakhra Talib sang national song in her melodious voice. Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences presented welcome note. Professor Muhammad Shafique (Rtd.), and author of many books talked on the importance of book writing in this digital era and appreciated the authors. Mr. Shahbaz Gardezi presented critical evaluation on the book, ‘Her Screams of Silence’ and said that the author highlighted traditional suppression in our society and advocated women’s pains and pangs. Professor Abdul Haq Murad (Rtd.) who is also the author of more than a half dozen books presented his review on the poetry book ‘I Was’ and appreciated the poetess. Dr. Arshad Mehmood presented closing remarks and highlighted the achievements of the department gained in the previous few years. At the end, the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Anila Kamal appreciated the department for motivation to students. She encouraged the authors for their wonderful production. The program ended at 12:30pm and the guests were entertained with refreshment at Wazwan.
